Our Album Is Here!

The Cosmo Alleycats' debut album, "The Late, Late Show," has finally arrived! The Bay Area's excited about it, too, as evidenced by this great article we got in the SF Bay Guardian: http://www.sfbg.com/noise/2011/12/20/localized-appreesh-cosmo-alleycats. And stay tuned for our upcoming radio interview!

Get your copy at this week's release parties at Le Colonial (Wed. 12/21 7-10p) and Blondie's (Thu. 12/22 9p-12:30a). Can't make it? Don't worry, the album's also available on iTunes and Amazon. Or, if you want an actual CD (autographed or not!), just send an email to cosmoalleycats@gmail.com and we'll mail you one.

Oh-so-much-fun at Blondie's Bar & No Grill

We are *loving* our gig at Blondie's every 2nd & 4th Thursday ... had a blast last night turnin' it on with guests Danny Brown and Lech Wierzynski. The bar is all decked out for the holidays with poinsettias and a giant Christmas tree - make sure to stop in for a nightcap after your holiday shopping!

We are also super excited to announce that our album, "The Late, Late Show," is thisclose to being released - just in time for all your stocking stuffing needs! We'll be having release parties at Le Colonial and Blondie's on the 21st and 22nd respectively. We'll be performing the album in its entirety, along with fun holiday songs, and there will be some great specials (anyone up for an "Alleycat cosmo"?!). Be sure to stay tuned for details by "liking" The Cosmo Alleycats on Facebook!

The Cosmo Alleycats' 1st Documentary

Our friend & official band artist/photographer/videographer/filmographer Mr. Yrving Torrealba just produced our band's first documentary. Enjoy!

Cosmo Alleycats: Sausalito Jazz & Blues by the Bay

The Cosmo Alleycats performed at Sausalito Jazz & Blues by the Bay on Friday 7/8/2011. What a delight! Great weather, awesome crowd, and we were on point. I set up Greg with some A/V equipment on the lawn and he got some great photos & videos. Our fans have also been contributing lots of great photos from the evening. Enjoy!

Exciting Performances

The Cosmo Alleycats were fortunate to share the stage with some very special guests in May and June. Jinx Jones joined us on guitar in late May and we had a blast with him. It was great to have a guitar back in the mix, and Jinx really tears it up. From playing with Solomon Burke and the Sylvers (one of my new favorites due to this video) to recording with En Vogue on their triple platinum album "Funky Divas" - not to mention leading his own bands - Jinx has done it all and I was so honored that he joined us for a truly fun night at Le Colonial.

In early June, Jules Broussard joined us on saxophone. Jules has played with legends like Ray Charles and Boz Scaggs and has become a legend in his own right. (I've never been so reluctant to sing "Hard Times"!) Aside from his musical talents, I enjoyed listening to his stories and getting to know him.

In other news, the Alleycats are looking forward to July when we perform as part of the Sausalito Jazz & Blues By the Bay program on July 8th. We hope to see you there! (And I'll probably be back again on 8/5 when one of my favorite blues guitarists Kenny Neal takes the stage!)

The Alleycats at the Boom Boom Room, 3-31-11

I was excited to perform at the Boom Boom Room for the first time on 3/31. With the velvet curtain, stage & our own announcer, I felt like a total star. The Alleycats have some more exciting venues coming up soon - check my calendar (to the right) for more details!

Burnie snapped a pic of me goofing off during sound check:

Recording at Hyde Street Studio C

The Cosmo Alleycats recorded our first album at the legendary Hyde Street Studio C on February 27, 2011. Home to recording artists such as Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Studio C was the perfect place for our live-style record. And incidentally, according to the Continuum Encyclopedia of Popular Music of the World, the members of CCR dubbed Studio C "Cosmo's Factory" because their drummer (Doug "Cosmo" Clifford) spent so much time there. The album of the same name was recorded in Studio C. How fitting!

We're currently in the throes of mixing, mastering, and creating the album artwork, but the final product should be ready soon. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at one of our rough mixes from that day:

Revolution Cafe

Last Saturday night (January 8), I performed with some of the Cosmo Alleycats at Revolution Cafe in the Mission. We filled in for Tin Cup Serenade. It was a crazy night - the place was packed, so there was no room for dancing, and almost no room for us! But it was super exciting to introduce ourselves to a new audience, and we had fun. We hope to be back there again soon!

Blondie's Bar & No Grill!

I am SO excited to announce that the Cosmo Alleycats have scored a great gig at Blondie's in the Mission. It's one of my all-time favorite spots in the city: I've had several birthday parties there! They're bringing back their live music scene and we are proud and excited to be a part of it. Our first show there will be Thursday, January 27th from 9:30-1am. Click on the links to your right for more details - we hope to see you there!
